Today, the American Nurses Association (ANA) is extremely proud to announce that ANA President Ernest J. Grant, PhD, RN, FAAN, was named among Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for 2022

These legislative priorities are necessary to protect nurses in the workforce, support their mental health and well-being and remove barriers that they often face when providing safe and quality patient care.

Today the United Health Foundation, the philanthropic foundation of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH), announced a three-year, $3.1 million grant partnership with the American Nurses Foundation to fight nurse burnout.

The American Nurses Association strongly opposes any legislation or policy action that places restrictions on transgender health care and that criminalizes gender-affirming care.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) today announced the recipients of the 2022 Pathway Nurse of the Year Award™. The winners were presented at the 2022 co-located ANCC National Magnet Conference^® and the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference® in Philadelphia.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) announced MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, as the recipient of the 2022 ANCC Pathway Award®. The award, sponsored by Oracle Cerner, was presented at the co-located 2022 ANCC National Magnet Conference® and the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference® in Philadelphia.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) announced St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ, received the 2022 ANCC Magnet Prize^®. The award, sponsored by Oracle Cerner, was presented at the 2022 co-located ANCC National Magnet Conference^® and ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference^® in Philadelphia.

 The behavior demonstrated by a white Nurse Practitioner towards an expectant Black mother in a widely shared video was unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable. 

ANCC seeks to raise $50,000 through donations given during the conference that will be shared between PHLCares, a homelessness solutions initiative, and the American Nurses Foundation committed to advancing the nursing profession.

On behalf of the ANCC Board of Directors, the Nominations Committee issues this call for qualified nominees for appointment to seats on the Commission on Accreditation in Nursing Continuing Professional Development (COA-NCPD), Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs (COA-PTP), Commission on Magnet® (COM), and which serve as the governing bodies for their respective ANCC programs.
