5 Million Lives Campaign
The American Nurses Association served as an advisory partner with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) during its Saving 100,000 Lives Campaign and most recently the 5 Million Lives Campaign. The 5 Million Lives Campaign took place over the course of two years and involved over 4000 hospitals across the United States. Using evidence-based interventions to improve quality and patient safety, the study informed the creation of the IHI Improvement Map. ANA supports IHI’s efforts to use this map to help hospitals make sense of requirements and focus on high-leverage changes to transform care.
