In September 1990, the Center for Ethics and Human Rights was established with the following guiding objectives:
The Center continues to advance these originating goals and has become respected as an authority within the nursing community. The Center remains responsive to the changing realities within health care and the nursing profession and is committed to addressing professional, ethical and human rights challenges and ultimately to improving the quality of care rendered to patients and their families.
