Marcia Bosek DNSc, RN is an Associate Professor at the University of Vermont where she teaches didactic and clinical nursing courses to undergraduate and doctoral nursing students. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Bosek has 20 years of experience serving as a clinical ethicist at Rush University Medical Center and Fletcher Allen Health Care.
She holds a BSN from Goshen College, Goshen Indiana. A MSN from Indiana University. Her doctoral degree with a focus in nursing ethics was earned at Rush University. Her program of research focuses on how healthcare professionals make clinical ethical decisions. In 2013, she began investigating learning outcomes and ethical issues related to simulation learning.
Dr. Bosek (2007) co-authored a nursing ethics textbook titled The ethical component of nursing education: Integrating ethics into clinical experiences. She has published over 60 articles, book chapters and/or ethics columns. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and American Society for Bioethics and Humanities.
