Following infection-control best practices could prevent up to 380,000 infections and 9,000 deaths caused by CAUTI (catheter-associated urinary tract infection) each year in the United States, with a potential savings of more than $400 million in nonreimbursable health care costs annually. In this pre-conference session, expert nurses will explain nurse-driven innovations that are preventing cases of CAUTI across the country, offer practical tips for reducing CAUTI at your facility, and walk through how to implement the new one-page, streamlined, evidence-based CAUTI-reduction tool developed by ANA in partnership with the CMS Partnership for Patients.
