There are more resources available on NursingWorld.org than most people see. In addition to lots of information available to the public on the site, there are also sections that are only accessible to members. In the Members Only area of the ANA Web site, here are just some of the useful resources on which you can rely:
Mosby’s Nursing Consult-ANA Edition
Mosby’s Nursing Consult-ANA Edition is relevant to all registered nurses regardless of position or setting. “Consult” combines leading nursing resources that provide evidence based material for clinical decision making, education, training and staff development. This tool is a quick and easy way for nurses to stay informed of new developments in nursing and is accessible only through the Members Only area of the Web site.
Free CEs
In addition to the discount ANA members get on CEs, there is a whole section of free CEs accessible through the Members Only area of the Web site.
CINAHL®
The CINAHL® (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) is the premier database covering nursing and allied health literature from 1982 to the present. It contains over one million records indexed from over 1,800 journals and some even include full text.
Global Disease Alert Map
The HealthMap (the Global Disease Alert Map) provides information on the global state of infectious diseases and aggregates news sources from a variety of news organizations and official alerts.
Drug Name Error Finder Tool
This is a drug error online finder database, that allows you to search more than 1,400 drugs involved in look-alike and/or sound-alike errors based upon a review of more than 26,000 identified records.
ANA Pubs Archive
This archive is a collection of American Nurses Association (ANA) publications that have been taken out of circulation. The publications in this collection cover a wide variety of topics and issues in order to provide a historical perspective regarding the development of policies, positions and issues in the nursing community and should be interpreted within its historical context.
Essential Nursing Resources
The 25th Edition of the Interagency Council on Information Resources in Nursing (ICIRN) Essential Nursing Resources list is presented as a resource for locating nursing information and for collection development. The list includes print, multimedia, and electronic sources to support nursing practice, education, administration, and research activities.
PubMed Citations
This service is designed to assist you with keeping updated on the most recent literature in nursing. Each topic has been established to automatically search the National Library of Medicine’s, PubMed* database of bibliographic citations. When a new citation is added to the database, related to one of these topics, the citations on this page are automatically updated.
