Add Miles Pedaled and Calories Burned to RNs’ Totals Nationwide
The American Nurses Association (ANA) has established a staff team for the 2013 National Bike Challenge, RN-ANA Healthy Roll Models. We challenge you to match us, or even “roll” right past us, by creating or joining a team within your workplace or organization, as you become a HealthyNurse™ role model.

The National Bike Challenge, which launches on the cusp of National Nurses Week and rolls from May 1 to September 30, is a health and wellness initiative that encourages cycling for transportation and recreation. It’s a fun, free and interactive way to improve your fitness, build team camaraderie, and create healthy competition among workplaces and organizations. And you can even win real prizes, not to mention the prize of better health!

You can be a beginner or a Tour de France hopeful, and you can ride on your own or with a group. Every time you ride over the five months of the Challenge, you log your participation and mileage on the Challenge website. Nurses around the country are forming teams with an RN prefix to track nurses’ miles, calories burned and other data. So use the template “RN-Team Name” to register your team and show the difference nurses can make.
