The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation's (CMMI) Health Care Innovation Awards are funding up to $1 billion in grants to applicants who will implement the most compelling new ideas to deliver better health, improved care and lower costs to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), particularly those with the highest health care needs.

The ANA is pleased to note that nurses in multiple roles (e.g., care coordinators, navigators etc.) with multiple specialty certifications are included in the care models awarded. Moreover, nurse-led models with advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) are being tested and expanded, such as the "Expanding and testing a Nurse Practitioner-led health home model for individuals with developmental disabilities" project in New Jersey.
