The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) wants to recognize individual nurses for outstanding performance in their field. Two awards will be announced—ANCC Certified Specialty Nurse and ANCC Certified Advanced Nurse. The nominated nurse must be someone who has made significant contributions in the area of clinical practice or education or research or service. Preference will be given to current or past volunteers from any of the ANCC program areas. All nominees must be nurses who are certified by ANCC. Nominations will be judged for innovation, consultation, leadership, and professional risk-taking.
Members of the American Nurses Association (ANA) or any of its constituent member (state nurses) associations as well as staff and volunteers of ANCC, ANA, the American Nurses Foundation, and the American Academy of Nursing are invited to nominate individuals for these awards. All nominees must be nurses who are currently certified by ANCC.
Full details and the submission form may be viewed at: www.nursecredentialing.org/ANCC-NurseAward.aspx. All submissions are electronic.
Please note: although the application form indicates April 29 as the due date, we have extended the due date to May 27, 2011.
