The American Nurses Association (ANA) worked with the North American Precis Syndicate (NAPS), a media content developer and distributor, to produce a publication-ready article headlined, “H1N1 Vaccinations: What Nurses Want You to Know.” The article was distributed to thousands of newspapers across the country in December, and so far has been printed in online and print newspaper versions from New Jersey to Alabama to New Mexico to California. NAPS syndicated articles typically are published by media outlets over a 3- or 4-month period. The article is part of ANA’s initiative to urge registered nurses and the general public to get the H1N1 vaccine, and advise the public how to prevent the spread of the virus and care for someone who has it.
