To help nurses prepare, the American Nurses Association (ANA) has expanded the H1N1 Information for Nurses section on NursingWorld.
Even though it’s still summer, flu season is right around the corner. This flu season will be different, however, as the 2009 H1N1 pandemic looms large as a major health problem on top of seasonal flu viruses. President Obama has asked the nation – federal and state planners, local health providers, communities and individuals - to begin to prepare for a widespread outbreak of H1N1 flu. To help nurses prepare and possibly respond, the ANA has expanded its H1N1 Information for Nurses section, complete with clinical guidance for H1N1 care and treatment, links to investigations of the current situation, and resources for nurses interested in responding as volunteer health providers.
