The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), an organization that represents research-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, has posted its new Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals and will impact all continuing nursing education providers and approvers, including ANA’s Constituent Member Associations (CMAs).

This Code replaces the current version published in 2002 and becomes effective January 1, 2009. As of November 5, 2008, 36 companies have affirmed their intent to comply with the Code when it becomes effective.

For additional information, the Code is available at: www.phrma.org/code_on_interactions_with_healthcare_professionals/
