ANA Introduces the First Credit Card Designed
for the Personal and Professional Needs of Nurses

Silver Spring, MD - The American Nurses Association (ANA) announces the introduction of a new affinity credit card that features a unique rewards program for nurses. ANA Nursing Rewards +, is the new rewards Visa credit card designed especially for nurses. Developed by the ANA and National City Bank, this card is the first and only credit card that offers a rewards program designed to meet the personal and professional needs of nurses combined with a low interest rate.

The ANA Nursing Rewards + card offers nurses a reward point for every dollar they spend, with a choice of personal rewards-travel, spa visits, entertainment, etc. and uniquely chosen professional rewards such as paying the fees to qualify for certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center and nursing publications published by the association. Other card benefits include auto rental insurance, roadside assistance, common carrier travel accident insurance and extended warranty program as well as online account access. To apply, nurses and supporters of the nursing profession can visit http://www.NursingWorld.org to apply online or call 1-800- 918-8496 to apply by phone.

Linda Stierle, MSN, RN, CNAA, BC, ANA Chief Executive Officer, said "At ANA, we are excited about this card not only for ANA, but for nursing. This new card offers nurses a chance to earn rewards that are unique to the nursing profession-while at the same time featuring a low interest rate and all the other benefits that Visa offers. Nurses work very hard to provide for their patients, so we are happy to help provide these benefits for them."

The ANA advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting the economic and general welfare in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and by lobbying the Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public. This credit card is part of a variety of benefits and discounts that the ANA makes available to its members and nurses.

Paul Reiff, Vice President, National City Card Services, indicated that "We are most proud of this landmark collaboration with our country's nursing community and we are pleased to be selected by the ANA for our company's continuing expertise in issuing special affinity and co-branded credit cards. National City salutes nurses across the country for their passion, extraordinary skills, and their daily sacrifices for the well-being of their patients."
