POSITION TITLE: Senior Pathway Specialist
DEPARTMENT: ANCC
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops, implements, evaluates, and manages the assigned administrative and operational processes related to the Pathway to Excellence program. Contributes to developing the content and subsequent processes. Serves as liaison with other staff within ANCC/ANA activities as they relate to credentialing & key point of contact for our healthcare organizational customers’ executive teams. Solicits feedback while valuing comments and concerns related to the coordination and management of the program. Collaborates with the Director of the Pathway to Excellence Program and staff to ensure excellence in all areas of the Program. Utilizes evaluation results in developing and implementing new approaches and content as the program develops. Provides content expertise and analysis related to criteria development, the Nurse Survey and educational outreach for internal and external customers: applicants, the Governing Council commissioners, reviewers, designee organizations and potential markets. Maintains a current knowledge base regarding the requirements for International Standards Organization (ISO) registration. Takes the lead role in the maintenance and continual improvement in adherence to ISO requirements, ensuring continual compliance with the requirements of ISO.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: RN required and Master’s degree in Nursing, Administration, Education, Business, or healthcare related field is required. At least five years in a position requiring project management, coordination of multiple tasks, adherence to timelines, and attention to detail is essential. Diverse healthcare experience preferred. Familiarity with nursing and healthcare is required; various settings may be appropriate to attain this experience. Familiarity with ISO processes and requirements is preferred. Strong project management skills, positive interpersonal skills, work independently as well as able to direct part of a team, ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize position workload. Ability to interact with high level professionals, national and international leaders and the public. Must have demonstrated financial skills for invoicing, budget variance tracking, calculations, and balance of accounts. A working knowledge of multiple office technologies, including a database management system and electronic spreadsheets, ability to maintain electronic files (and other files), and good word processing speed with word processing software are required. Experience with SAS or SPSS preferred. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong analytic and editing skills. Requires discretion in managing confidential information. Must be able to travel by car, air – approximately 10% of time.
