Directs the work of ANA's governance system, which includes the Membership Assembly, ANA's governing body; the Board of Directors, Board of Directors Executive Committee, and standing committees; and an advisory body, the Leadership Council. Facilitates the planning for and execution of ANA's strategic planning process; facilitates the development of professional policies through the annual Reference process; and oversees ANA's National Awards and Volunteer Management programs. Serves as as subject matter expert on association governance and operations; ensures compliance with ANA's bylaws, association policies and procedures, and board operating policies; and recommends and implements best practices.

Facilitates all logistical planning for the annual Membership Assembly meeting; recommends, and implements business process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of all governance programs and processes; administers and ensures adoption of various technology platforms to assist Leadership Services staff in performing their essential job functions; administers and develops intranet (SharePoint) sites, pages, libraries and lists; develops, designs and administers Leadership and Governance Web pages on NursingWorld.org; and analyzes, maintains and organizes volunteer data structure using the Association Management System (Personify).

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ANA Board of Directors and the ANA Executive Committee; serves as a trusted advisor and supports colleagues across the ANA Enterprise in implementing good governance practices; serves as the staff liaison to the Committee on Appointments and oversees the committee appointment process for all governance and practice-related committees; ensures effective and efficient governance operations and maintains association policies. 

Vacant, Senior Governance Specialist

Serves as a professional staff liaison to the Committee on Honorary Awards and its subcommittee; directs the Volunteer Management Initiative; and serves as a subject matter expert on association governance and operational issues, including national awards program administration, policy development, and volunteer administration.
