Carolyn Baird, RN
I first joined ANA as a workplace requirement. As I matured in my profession, I realized that ANA gave me something I had been missing from my professional practice. Everyone I come in contact with – clients, colleagues and students – has benefited from my ANA involvement. As a nursing faculty member, part of my professional role is to educate; the resources ANA makes available on the web, such as position papers and smart briefs, are sometimes just a starting place for a thought process that requires more research. I have become a visible supporter of ANA and encourage all my students to consider some level of membership.
